Asbestos Removal

Asbestos removal presents a number of challenges and should always be undertaken by a suitably licensed and competent contractor. It is a requirement of the How to Manage and Control Asbestos in the Workplace, Code of Practice 2011 that all non-domestic premises built before December 2003 have in place an Asbestos Register and Asbestos Management Plan (AMP). The purpose of the management plan is to ensure compliance with current legislative requirements and to identify asbestos building materials to assist with the management of these materials where they remain in situ. These surveys and the preparation of Asbestos Registers / AMP’s should be complied by a competent person such as a Qualified Environmental Scientist, Licensed Asbestos Assessor or Building Inspector with experience in this line of work.

The existence of asbestos in many buildings has created a need for the development of safe removal practices to be developed in line with industry best-practices and in compliance with the various State and Federal regulations. Rosenlund has undertaken many complex and hazardous asbestos removal projects, including several for government and institutional clients.
