Project Brief
Iluka involved demolishing a 15 story residential complex in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Obvious challenges were traffic, public, noise and dust. The initial 5 floors were removed by placing small machines on floors and using pincer attachments rather than hammers for noise reasons, and then taking a high reach to site to demolish the remaining 10 floors.
Demolition of structure with LIVE electrical substation in basement- requiring sub-station protection and coordination of asset provider.
